Oh you thought I was kidding?

Oh you thought I was kidding?

It reads: "WARNING: ASBESTOS PROJECT SUSPENDED". Rumor is, after the state abandoned this building, they sold it to a private entity (an alleged non-profit). It is one of many buildings on this psych center campus that has been sold to private entities. Unlike the other buildings which were professionally rehabilitated, the owner of this building decided to hire a fly-by-night asbestos contractor. I recall attending a town hall meeting, and watching a local resident tear the contractor behind this job a new asshole alleging that air monitoring never happened, that waste manifests were not properly kept, that work was done "only at night" and that the building was not sealed before the interior ACM was disturbed. He made a very convincing case and if I had to guess, this sign was the result of his rabble rousing. Good for him though, sticking it to shady asbestos contractors. Of course the building has just sat in this state for the three years since that happened and there's still tons of disturbed ACM all over the place.
