Interesting that the air intake vents are right above the escalator. It must've been a real bitch to change out those filters. Also in this photos, note the anti-slide devices on the escalator's balustrade. These "hockey puck" style anti-side devices prevent a person or luggage from sliding down the smooth metal surface of the balustrade. Finally, notice the ancient CCTV cameras on the ceiling. It is highly likely that these cameras were not operational, simply on the basis that they appear to be analog cameras existing in a world of highly sophisticated digital surveillance.
