Old cigarette butt on the floor
One thing that bothers me a lot is when smokers discard cigarette butts out of car windows. Is it really such a big deal that someone left a butt here? Well, sort of. Carelessly discarded cigarette butts can easily start brush fires, or here, could have ignited this tinder-box dry wooden shack in the middle of nowhere. Contrary to commonly held beliefs, cigarette butts are not made of cotton, they are made of acetate. It takes years for cigarette butts to biodegrade.
