Wiring Behind the COP
A rare view behind the COP in a new Otis elevator, detailing the complex wiring required even for a relatively "simple" 4 floor service arrangement. Here, the elevator is on the ground floor, and the access key has been inserted into the key switch on the exterior door jamb. In a moment, the elevator will be commanded to the floor above (here, the first floor, above ground level), so that the equipment in the pit of the hoistway can be inspected.
