Not a public road, use at own risk sign

Not a public road, use at own risk sign

This is an extremely unusual sign. It appears that a private property owner allowed off-roaders to use a trail on their property. The shortcut would save absolutely no time whatsoever, because so many portions of the trail require care, such as spots that require you to cross water. A car could not make it far down this road.

The "use at own risk" aspect to the sign is especially strange, since this is a somewhat attractive nuisance. I think that this would in no way waive the property owner's liability should some accident occur on his property.
