Dead bird of prey at the ski chalet

I am no ornithologist. When I first saw this, I hoped it wasn't a bald eagle. I honestly don't know if it's an eagle at all. It does appear to be some kind of bird of prey though, considering its size. It almost looks like it just laid down and gave up.
