We're all connected...
Part of a bank of phone booths near the Persian room. The payphones actually remained in place until about 2003. Presumably, Verizon was not granted permission to enter the building, although they were probably legally allowed to recover their equipment since it was their property. Must have been an interesting job for those linemen. The placard is still there and reads "New York Telephone - A NYNEX Company".
