Thoroughly rusted speed limit sign

Did you order your sign "well done"? This speed limit sign has clearly seen better days. The white backing has completely worn away, exposing the steel beneath, and the steel has been exposed to enough weather to create an even layer of oxidation. A wooden spray painted stenciled "exit" sign next to it fared much better over time, perhaps because it was installed much later.
