Broadway still open to traffic
2007 would be one of the last years that Broadway was open to traffic in Times Square. On evenings it wasn't so bad, but during the day this area was an absolute nightmare, an absolute pinnacle of every aspect of urban congestion. Now, with the unusual intersection closed, traffic is flowing better in the city at large. Or maybe that's just because everyone driving to work in 2007 lost their jobs in 2008 and 2009.
