Pool wing elevator COP

Pool wing elevator COP

An extremely old car operating panel in the pool wing. Note the lack of a "close door" button or any fire service. Also note the manual "up" and "down" buttons. Finally, notice the key for the "light ray"! The light ray was a predecessor to the modern light curtain using infrared beams to detect an object in the path of the elevator door. The light ray actually used a ray of light that bounced past multiple mirrors. This supplemented the mechanical edge on the inner door of the cab. The unusual verbiage makes me wonder if it was a reference to Einstein's light ray in an elevator experiment.
