Perhaps one of the more sad features of any location like this are the signs that at one time, someone did care enough to fix things up. Not just the wooden boards, but also, the door on the left side of the frame. Throughout the hotel, there were construction materials scattered about that had been left abandoned before the renovations were ever completed.
